Kitchenaid App

A minimalist visual system for KitchenAid’s mobile app that supports real-world cooking through clarity, consistency, and quiet confidence

Problem

The legacy app lacked cohesion and felt visually outdated, with inconsistent components and a UI that didn’t reflect the premium quality of the brand or support real-world cooking scenarios.

Solution

We reimagined the app as a streamlined companion that supports cooks before, during, and after a recipe. The new experience focuses on clarity, timely assistance, and an interface that adapts to real-world kitchen behavior.

I led visual design and art direction, building a flexible component system, defining design patterns, and collaborating across product and engineering to ensure consistency and scalability across the app.

The visual system embraces a minimalist aesthetic—clean, spacious, and intentionally understated. It was designed to reduce distraction and keep cooks in their element, supporting the task at hand without getting in the way.
02
Behind the interface are smart, connected features—but on the surface, everything speaks in plain, approachable language. Whether adjusting oven settings or syncing timers, interactions are intuitive, digestible, and designed for confidence in motion.
03
We brought KitchenAid’s editorial voice to life through curated recipe collections and interactive cooking guides. Designed to feel like a digital cookbook, the content inspires while remaining practical—always one step ahead of the cook, never behind.
